A Japanese idol is garnering attention among Koreans for his surprise background.

Earlier this month on November 8, numerous artists attended the '2022 Genie Music Awards', celebrating a successful year in K-Pop. A team from Japan also attended the event to accept the 'Next Generation Global Award' and performed for Korean audiences, Psychic Fever from EXILE TRIBE

Afterward, some netizens began showing interest in maknae Weesa of Psychic Fever, who comes from a Korean-Moroccan background. Born in 2004, Weesa (Saiki Weesa) was born in Japan, with his mother being Korean and his father being Moroccan. He's also the maknae of Psychic Fever.

Netizens commented, "Wow his background is so surprising", "He's handsome", "Even though he doesn't have any Japanese blood, it's interesting how they made him look somewhat Japanese with the clothes and styling", "From his visuals alone, I would say he looks mixed Japanese...", "He has Chanyeol vibes", "A Japanese idol who is Korean-Moroccan, what a global idol", "He's got global visuals", and more.

You can catch Psychic Fever from EXILE TRIBE's performance at the '2022 Genie Music Awards', below.

Good he isn't a Kpop artist. The racism in Korea. The lack of accepting new visuals also. Japanese idol a great choice
