One K media outlet asked why YG entertainment waited for BLACKPINK's promotions to end before publishing a legal notice. Shortly after BLACKPINK wrapped up promotions for their second full album, 'BORN PINK,' they released a statement addressing "rumors, criticism, personal attacks, sexual harassment, and invasion of privacy triggered by personal photos" relating to Kim Jennie.
After a couple of months of constant defamation, hate, and harassment of the affected idols, fans and media were wondering why agencies didn't come forward sooner to protect the artists from constant hate and cyberbullying.
It was revealed that YG actually submitted a complaint to the police in September. "YG has refrained from commenting and expressing its position in order to minimize further damage, accusations, personal attacks, sexual harassment, and invasion of privacy that were made indiscriminately." But it appears that YG didn't want to address the issue until now to avoid negatively affecting BLACKPINK's promotions.
