LE SSERAFIM's Sakura recently appeared on Kang Ho Dong's talk show on NAVER NOW and shared her thoughts on malicious comments that she had to face over the years.
On the show, host Kang Ho Dong asked Sakura about the comments she had read. Sakura explained that there were many malicious comments about her and shared that the malicious comments caused her to form a fear of the recording studio. She explained she had received many comments about her singing skills and decided to put more effort into improving her skills.
However, Sakura also realized that there will always be people who hate her for no reason, so she decided to have a healthier mindset towards those comments. She explained, "Before it was really difficult for me to look at malicious comments. Now I don't pay much attention because I realize people always see what they want to so now I think 'whateves'."
In other interviews, Sakura also shared that she understands that her career path entailed various opinions of people and explained, "Of course, if it's possible, I don't want to hear bad things. However, this is a business of selling popularity so it can't be helped. I also believe that if I give good results people will acknowledge it." Sakura also added that she shares advice with her members since she has already experienced what it is like being in the spotlight and receiving various malicious comments that come along with popularity.
She shared, "I thought that they (the members) would face the same hardship I faced when I first debuted. So I want to share with them how I handled the situation at those times. People say a lot of different things when you get attention. At first, it was hard for me to see people say things about me when they didn't even see me in person. But I realized it's 2:6:2 - 20% of the people like me no matter what I do, 60% of people will assess me by looking at my results, and 20% of people will hate me no matter what I do. So rather than listening to the people who don't like me no matter what I do, I think if I listen to the 60% of people who assess me, then I would become better, is what I think."
Sakura fans were proud of how much the idol had grown and also encouraged her further. They commented, "When she says 'whateves' it's so cute," "I like the way she thinks," "I like that 2:6:2 idea," "I really think she has a healthy mindset," "What she says is true, 'Whatever' what can we do," "She had so many malicious comments about her," "She's so cute," and "I love her, she is really hardworking."
Unrelated but I love this picture of her, she looks literally ethereal.
