Girls' Generation has set a new personal record with their latest comeback album!
On August 5, Girls' Generation made their long-awaited first comeback in five years with their seventh full-length album, 'FOREVER 1.' The album was released physically on August 8, and according to the Hanteo chart, 'FOREVER 1' recorded 102,879 album sales on its first day, setting a new impressive record for the beloved group.
'FOREVER 1' has become the girl group's first-ever album since their debut to exceed 100,000 copies sold on the first day of release.
Girls' Generation not only broke their own record for first-day sales, but they also outsold their previous highest-selling album in first-week sales. The previous record was held by the group's sixth studio album 'Holiday Night,' which sold 30,644 copies on its first day of release. 'Holiday Night' was also the group's highest-selling album in first-week sales prior to the release of 'FOREVER 1,' which accumulated 90,217 copies in first-week sales.
Congratulations to Girls' Generation on their achievements with 'FOREVER 1'!
It's impressive that they are able to set record after years of hiatus. SNSD was active during a time when albums sales were not high and they were among the idols that sold the most back then....but after so many years other idols would lose in popularity but SNSD remains strong.
