"This is only the start with BTS, we will be with them until the end," HYBE clarifies its future company plans

HYBE recently shared the future plans for the company and explained, "The journey of BTS is only at the beginning. It's hard to gauge how far they will go, and we will be with them until the end."

According to HYBE, sales for the first quarter of 2022 on a consolidated basis were tentatively estimated at 285 billion KRW (226 million USD). Among them, performance-related sales amounted to 61.3 billion KRW (48.6 million USD). During the same period last year, due to social distancing from COVID-19, there was no performance profit.

The ‘BTS Permission to Dance on Stage-Seoul’ concerts held in Korea in March attracted 45,000 offline and 1.4 million live viewers, and the peak online real-time streaming was counted as 460,000 viewers.

HYBE CEO Park Ji Won said, "BTS is planning to come back with a new album on June 10. Being able to be with BTS is a great blessing to HYBE. They should not be taken for granted, so we will focus on supporting BTS so that they can expand without stopping.”

He continued, “There is a misunderstanding that HYBE is intentionally reducing its dependence on BTS because of the recent decrease in the proportion of BTS in HYBE’s total revenue. However, the sales proportion of BTS was relatively reduced as the sales of other artists in HYBE increased.

In addition, the rookie idol group LE SSERAFIM debuted through a mini-album and showcase on May 2. Additionally, TXT and Seventeen are preparing for their comeback this month.

Regarding the gaming industry, CEO Park said, “There are people who wonder if we are stepping out of our core business, but the game industry is a business to expand the influence of music and artist IP (intellectual property rights). Ultimately, we are doing our best to prepare for an enriched fan experience.”

He also revealed a business plan for the fan community platform Weverse. Choi Jun Won, CEO of Weverse Company, said, “We plan to continue creating services to allow fans to write fan letters to artists, create and decorate their own spaces, and communicate with other fans. We plan to make it a platform where other artists with great influence can also participate."

It should have at least be included in the article that they are "clarifying" the misunderstandings now because they said something like this couple of weeks ago, and there's even an article here in akp
