Navy SEAL-turned-YouTuber Lee Keun, who recently stirred controversy after deciding to leave for Ukraine to help fight in the war, announced that he will be returning to Korea to receive treatment for his injury.
On May 23, an update to Lee Keun's YouTube channel community board was made. Here, a photo of Lee Keun in the hospital receiving check-up was posted, along with the following statement:
"LT Ken Rhee’s doctor stated that the injury is non-serious, but he will require advanced procedures and several months of rehabilitation. He will be on medical leave and seek further treatment in Korea. He hopes to return to Ukraine after he recovers and is granted permission by the South Korean government."
In response, some netizens commented:
"What is up with this man, for real?"
"Why is he like this?"
"He's crazy."
"Wow, I guess he is returning alive after all."
"I really can't understand him."
"Didn't Korea warn him not to go?"
"At one look, people would think he was a soldier who fought for his country and got injured."
"Didn't he go there with the mindset of dying? Does he think war is some kind of child's play?"
"What is that photo? Lollll."
"Medical leave? Where is he requesting a medical leave from?"
It feels like he used the invasion of Ukraine as a PR stunt for his own benefit. Him being seen at a hotel with a film crew says everything you need to know about his intentions not to mention his cringy photoshoots. Only a parasite would use people dying in war for personal gain.
