Ahn Cheol Soo, the head of the transition committee of the president-elect, visited HYBE Label to discuss developing pop culture.
On April 2nd, Ahn Cheol Soo and the members of the Social Welfare and Culture subcommittee visited the office of the HYBE label in Yongsan, Seoul. On this day, Ahn Cheol Soo met with Bang Si Hyuk and asked him to give advice on the upcoming administration's role and mission to promote the entertainment industry, which has taken a hit by the pandemic.
Bang Si Hyuk said, "Practically speaking, it's really hard to reopen concerts and plays due to stringent regulations in the industry. While other industries including professional sports are allowed to accept the pre-pandemic numbers of audiences, concerts aren't allowed to open up more than 5,000 seats regardless of the size of the concert venue."
He continued, "I'm feeling our society still has a tendency to discount the value of popular arts. I hope the general consensus could be reshaped into appreciating the popular arts a little more."
The group of politicians also met with TXT, who was practicing at the time of their visit.
Meanwhile, it was reported that nothing about BTS's exemption from mandatory military service was discussed during their visit, unlike the previous reports.
The transition committee will be writing up the first draft of the new administration's agenda over the weekend and will consolidate opinions at the general assembly on April 4th.
You know what the problem with this is? The same people that are happy the president is spending time with them are the same people that were against this dude when he won because he is conservative. Narrative changed when it's like this though.
