EXO's Suho is back with a solo album that contains his honest thoughts from the past two years.

On the afternoon of the 4th, an online press conference to mark the release of Suho's second solo mini-album 'Grey Suit' was held live. This event was hosted by EXO member Kai.

Suho, who made a comeback with a new solo album two years after his first solo album 'Self-Portrait' in March 2020, said, "I missed this so much. I really wanted to see (my fans) so I prepared, starting from the day I was discharged from the military. I was nervous when I was about to debut but I am trembling and nervous since this is like a new beginning.” 

Following his previous work, Suho directly participated in writing the lyrics for all songs, from the concept planning of this album to expressing his unique sensibility. Suho said, "It's an album that contains a lot of my color that contains the stories I've been wanting to tell for two years. While feeling the importance of time, I contemplated and thought a lot about how to mesh everything better and to make many people empathize.”

Suho, who had been discharged from the military in February, took the importance of the time he felt while serving in the mandatory military service as the theme for this album. He explained, "The homework assignment for me was how to spend my time during the military service. I spent time writing in a diary or taking notes on various things. As a result, I became obsessed with the word time."

He continued to explain, "I was thinking about how to make an album while waiting for the date to be discharged from the military, and I thought that I would be able to deliver my sincerity if I set the theme of time and tell the story I want to tell."

The title song, "Grey Suit," is a progressive rock genre song that harmonizes with a lyrical band sound and a dynamic string line. The lyrics tell the story of how the grey emptiness of the time that had stopped starts to become colorful after meeting someone again.

Suho confessed, "Actually, for the past two years, the world has flowed beautifully and colorfully, but it felt like time has stopped only for me. The world is colorful, but I felt that only 'Suho' was trapped in gray."

In addition to 'Grey Suit,' there are six tracks such as "Morning Star," "Hurdle," "Decanting," "Bear Hug," and "Moment," with the theme of time included in this album.

Suho smiled, saying, "I've put the thoughts I want to say in this album participating in the production from the planning stage," and said, "I'm so proud of myself."

However, Suho also shared that there was also a sense of pressure during the preparation process. Suho recalled, "At first, there was no pressure. I was very happy to be able to tell the story I wanted to tell through music after two years."

He added, "As I was thinking about my fans while preparing the album, I suddenly felt a lot of pressure. I was thinking about what kind of music my fans would like more, such as the instruments and lyrics."

Suho said he wanted to build his own genre through this album. He smiled, "I want to hear people say Suho is being Suho. I think I would be the happiest if I was evaluated for building a genre that was unique to Suho."

Meanwhile, Suho's second mini-album, 'Grey Suit,' was released through various online music sites at 6 PM on the 4th.
