American Airlines said its policies prohibit offensive clothing regarding DJ Soda's incident that happened earlier this week.
According to DailyMail.com on April 27th, American Airlines stated in writing that its policies prohibit offensive clothing. "During the boarding process for American Airlines Flight 306 at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), our team members informed Ms. So-hee of our policies and provided her the opportunity to change out of clothing displaying explicit language. The customer complied with requests and was allowed to continue travel, as planned, to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)," said the airline carrier in the written statement.
A post pointing out the airline carrier's policy also went viral among Korean netizens. Many then expressed that the DJ should not have worn pants full of inappropriate words.
Meanwhile, American Airlines' Conditions of Carriage simply reads, "Dress appropriately; bare feet or offensive clothing aren’t allowed." which inevitably depends on the airline staff's discretion.
However, this isn't the first time the airline has denied service due to inappropriate fashion choices.
In July 2021, a Turkish bodybuilder and fitness model living in the US was banned from boarding her flight to Miami because the staff found her bra top and shorts inappropriate.
Back in January, the airline employee demanded the former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo put something over her crop top and biker shorts, or risk being banned from her flight to Mexico.
And she complained like a little child. Shame on her.
