Ken Rhee, a former captain of the Naval Special Forces (UDT), announced that he had arrived in Ukraine.
Ken Rhee posted on his Instagram on the afternoon of March 7th, "Ministry of Foreign Affairs, my team has arrived in Ukraine safely. Please think about what we can do, rather than invalidating our passports and wasting time. We are going to fight at the forefront."
He continued, "I continued to request night vision goggles, but I did not get an export license. So he's trying to get night vision support from the US government."
Ken Rhee continued to post updates on his Instagram, saying, "I have arrived in Ukraine. Thank you for helping us during the Korean War. Now we will help." Along with this, he posted a picture of what is believed to be the base camp.
A netizen who saw the post said, "The country that participated in the war was the Soviet Union, not Ukraine," and demanded a correction from former Captain Lee. In response, Ken Rhee wrote another post and said, "The world helped Korea during the Korean War. Ukrainians also served in the US Army. Now we will help Ukraine. We can't just watch innocent people get hurt and die." explaining the background to his visit to Ukraine. He also added, "Please pray for peace in Ukraine."
Earlier, Ken Rhee claimed that he had recently departed for Ukraine to participate in the Ukrainian Volunteer Army. Lee Geun gained popularity as a training instructor in the YouTube content 'Fake Men' in 2020 and quickly garnered attention for his straightforward personality. Since then, many Koreans have taken an interest in the military special forces leading to many military competition shows.
