The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (a.k.a MBTI) test has been the hottest test in South Korea for the past few years, and it's crazy how people refer to their MBTI's in South Korea nowadays. This isn't common only amongst regular people but amongst celebrities as well. The MBTI test is categorized into 16 different personalities, and Koreans have done an amazing job at categorizing each personality into details, highlighting traits such as their strengths and weaknesses - they have also outlined charts that show which personality gets along with which.
Yoo Jae Suk, Rain, and Lee Hyori take their MBTI test and share their results on "How Do You Play?"
While this may just seem like a theory at first, Koreans are shocked at how accurate these descriptions are, mainly because Koreans have also taken their own twist to it and catered it, so it matches a typical Korean person, and it has become a conversation starter for many South Koreans today.
Today, we'll be looking at the personality ISFP (Introverted, Sensing, Feeling, Perceiving). An ISFP personality is called an "adventurer."
They're...
Introverted (vs. Extroverted)
Sensing[Observant] (vs. Intuitive)
Feeling (vs. Thinking)
Perceiving (vs. Judging)
According to MBTI: "The ISFP person is quiet, non-judgmental, and observant. These types of people value and appreciate the differences in themselves and others, and they truly want personal happiness for all people.
ISFPs are devoted helpers, but don’t look for recognition. They’re carefree and easygoing, and dislike being tied down by strict routines, rules, or structure.
they "tend to have open minds, approaching life, new experiences, and people with grounded warmth. Their ability to stay in the moment helps them uncover exciting potentials."
Of course, we can't figure out exactly what that means, which is why we prepared a Korean version of the traits that ISFP personalities withhold.
Here are some traits that ISFP personalities carry.
- Can't differentiate between personal life and professional life at times
- Can look through other's feelings and emotions easily
- Likes the nature and scenery over city vibes
- Feels joy and happiness through small things
- Prefers playing a "healer" role in games
- Optimistic
- Has the skill to find the meaning of life
- Soft
- Likes to include all and has a large capacity
- Warm-Hearted
- Does not prefer a logical system
- Good at forming close relationships
- Very good at criticizing own self at times
- Very considerate - to the point that one can't take care of oneself at times
- Purchases planners & journals but doesn't actually use it
- Considered a good person
- Passive resistance
- Lives like water flowing
- Is very frustrated when thinking about the future
- Very in-the-moment
- Enjoys current life
- Relatively quiet
- Conflicts between person vs. situation
While we'll be taking a look at other personalities, let's take a look at which personalities ISFP gets along with and some personalities that ISFP's should maybe stay away from.
Color Key
Red - THE WORST COMBINATION
Yellow - Not the worst, but not preferred either
Lime - Gets along half the time; does not get along half the time
Green - Has potential in becoming a very good friendship
Blue - MEANT TO BE BFF's
According to the key that this Korean company created, it looks like ISFP's should avoid INFP, ENFP, and INFJ at all costs. They were meant to be with ENFJ, ESFJ, and ESTJ's - quite interesting to see that they would get along with extroverts.
Now, let's take a look and see which celebrities obtain an ISFP personality!
