Ever since the launch of girl group aespa in late 2020, SM Entertainment has been pushing the concept of "KWANGYA" on every artist currently housed under the label. 

Apparently, according to the 'SMCU', every SM Entertainment artist has a story universe that is related to this mystical place, the KWANGYA. 

Previously, in an introductory video known as 'SMCU The Origin', the label revealed the following details regarding these artists:

SHINee: The Five Lights

Girls' Generation: The Goddesses of Sound

Super Junior: A world where people travel to outer space with no passport or possessions

EXO: Supernatural Powers

Red Velvet: Transcendental Beings Who Convene with The Gods 

Now, the news that every one of these SM Entertainment artists actually have a story universe that is directly connected with the world of KWANGYA came as a bit of a surprise not only to fans, but also the artists themselves!

See how some Super Junior members reacted when asked about the matter:

Donghae: "We don't have a story universe!"

Fans: "No, you have one."

Donghae: "We have a story universe? What's our story then?"

Eunhyuk: "Apparently, we have one now."

Eunhyuk: "I don't know what it is yet, but I heard that we have one now."

Donghae: ???????

Kyuhyun: "We have a story universe? That's the first time I've heard of it. Isn't that a thing that EXO or aespa have?"

Staff: "But Super Junior has one too."

Kyuhyun: "Really? Well, I don't know what it is."

Staff: "It's described as a world where people travel to outer space freely, transcending nationality and boundaries."

Kyuhyun: "We are all Korean though. I have no idea what that is. And I don't wanna know either. So, there you have it, I don't know. And I plan to keep it that way."
