Earlier, Monika, the leader of the dance crew PROWDMON from 'Street Woman Fighter,' received backlash for allegedly sharing wrong information about a particular dance.
On the episode of JTBC's 'Knowing Bros' that aired recently, Monika appeared as a special guest with the other dance crew leaders. On the show, Monika gave a short lesson on dance moves and explained, "All movements that pop are called popping. The 'g' is removed from the 'ing' and is just called 'Poppin'. The house genre is classified as street dance and it is a genre that evolved from electronic music."
However, as soon as the episode aired, other street dancers took to their social media to criticize that Monika had shared wrong information about the dance move 'Popping.' These street dancers have been demanding Monika to correct herself and explained that the dance move 'Popping' is with an 'ing' and not 'Poppin.'
On November 24, it was revealed that 106 of these street dancers have been slandering Monika because she was accused of saying 'Poppin' instead of 'Popping.' One netizen listed up the usernames of these dancers in an online community and pointed out these "professional" dancers are attacking Monika when she had not explained anything wrong.
Other netizens joined the online community to also criticize these dancers and commented, "I thought the dance community would be really cool about things but they're really rotten, I hope they keep their pride of being underground dancers and stay underground," "this is such a cringe. Thanks for showing the site of cyberbullying," "They're too much, she didn't say anything wrong," "That's how you know they're jealous and have an inferiority complex," "You can say either 'Poppin' or 'Popping,' they're making a big deal for nothing," "The issue is they act like they're some professional or something but I've never heard of these dancers," "I wish you can reveal the dancer's name next to the user id," and "They're making such a big deal about something not so big."
Something this trivial doesn't call for slandering.
