BTS' Jimin's impact and high popularity status is demonstrated again by US radio stations and international media outlets

Jimin's explosive popularity is constantly exhibited not just by fans and among the general public but also among media stations around the globe. The US has particularly been one of the countries where Jimin has become a household name, so much so that any news reports regarding BTS or sometimes even K-pop, in general, will usually have media outlets using Jimin as a reference or use his picture in the news. In addition, any news regarding Jimin also gets picked up by various media outlets around the world because he is always a hot topic. This scenario has occurred again in the past few days on two occasions, re-affirming Jimin's position as a global IT boy for his massive popularity and influence.

The first occasion was in regard to Chloe Zhao's interview with ETtoday, where she revealed how and why she came to include Jimin's self-written, composed, and produced song 'Friends' in the latest Marvel movie release 'Eternals.' The news of the featuring of Jimin's song in such a big Hollywood film production had already been a hot topic ever since its confirmation and everyone had been talking about it. As such, this interview with the movie's director attracted lots of attention as well.

Mainly, Chloe stated that she included the song as a soundtrack in the movie because it was one of her favorite BTS songs, and it fits well with the scene in the film. She further added that she really likes Jimin and that he is too cute. This particular confession became a highlight of the interview, especially since she completely blushed when saying that Jimin is really cute. The interview not only reinforced the popular saying that 'no one can escape Jimin's charms' but it also further emphasized his influence and power as an artist and as an individual, given that he always demands attention from some of the biggest names in various powerful and influential industries such as fashion, dance, music, and film to mention a few.

The interview was published on November 4, and as of November 9, over 24 international media outlets had published the news, and more have reported on the news since then.

The second occasion was regarding the news of BTS performing their hit song 'Butter' featuring Megan Thee Stallion for the very first time live during the upcoming American Music Awards show to be held in Los Angeles on November 21. The announcement of the news immediately led to more than 50 radio stations in the US posting about it and using a picture of Jimin and Megan as the thumbnail photo, Jimin being the representative for BTS. iHeart Radio was one of these stations, and it is the largest radio broadcaster in the US, according to a report by the New York Times. The station has over 850 local broadcasting stations. There is a long history of such scenarios happening where Jimin is used to represent BTS or even K-pop owing to his unbeatable popularity in the US, leading to names such as 'K-pop Front-man' and 'BTS Front-man' as reported by Top Star News.

Naver previously reported on the unimaginable attraction that US radio stations and media outlets have towards Jimin, citing several incidents of such affection for Jimin from the media outlets. Jimin receives love and affection from these stations even on random days when nothing eventful would warrant the stations making posts about Jimin, but this has become a common occurrence now.

An example is when radio stations collectively post photos of Jimin with captions such as "You are our universe #jimin," 'Petition to make every day #jiminday," "Spotlight Sunday," "I'm sorry, how can you not love #jimin," "What is your favorite thing about #Jimin?", "Purple you forever, Jimin," and many other sweet captions.

For this reason, Jimin has earned nicknames such as 'US Media Darling' and "American Media Sweetheart," and America has now also earned the nickname 'Jimmerica" for Jimin+America.

Media outlets also use Jimin-centered gifs and clips when reporting about BTS performances on American award shows, such as the case when BTS made had their very first 'Butter' performance on the 2021 BBMAs.

In addition, when 'Butter' was released, all media outlets were using Jimin's parts of the music video in thumbnails when reporting on the news.

He is indeed the representative face of BTS and K-pop in general in the US.

Meanwhile, Jimin ranked 30th in the 45th week of the Gaon Social Chart 2.0, having risen two places from his ranking for week 44. The chart is a weekly ranking for the top 50 of the most popular South Korean artists. It becomes his 13 consecutive weeks on the chart despite having no solo activities or promotions that would boost his standing on this ranking, which collects data from platforms such as YouTube, Tiktok, Mubeat, Vlive, and MyCelebs.

Jimin has conquered this, and it is highly impressive and commendable of him.
