Brave Entertainment issued an official statement disclosing its intent to file an appeal against
Samuel Kim, who recently won his case against the label.
Previously on November 17th, the Seoul Central District Court ruled to nullify Samuel Kim's contract with Brave Entertainment and dismissed the label's lawsuit for damages against him in the amount of 1 billion Won ($845,616.50 USD).
On November 22nd KST, Brave Entertainment issued an official statement as follows.
"This is Brave Entertainment. We are writing to disclose our stance regarding the lawsuit on the 17th filed against us by Samuel Kim.
The court has dismissed all of the plaintiff's (Samuel Kim) claims including 'forcing to do works outside of duties', 'violating educational rights', 'forgery of documents', and etc. However, the court has ruled the contract was voidable based on the breach of mutual trust due to a delay in delivering some of the accounting documents.
We have supported the artist who did not procure any income for years from many aspects including educational fees, rent, personal trainers, and promotional costs because we wanted to succeed with him. As much as we have cherished Brave Girls members during that similar time frame, we have cherished him.
We are extremely sorry that the court would perceive the years of trust between the parties were broken just because the company has provided some of the accounting documents belatedly.
We believe which side is speaking the truth is apparent if you take a look at the following claims. His mother posted on social media boasting about his activities in China, which he is now claiming he has not consented to promote in China. He accompanied on the contract sign day with Japan's big label, to which he is also claiming he has not consented. He signed the contract himself which he is now claiming the company has forged the contract.
We would like to take the case to the court once again through the appeal. Even if we could not persuade the court with the truth, we will only represent our case with the facts."
Seriously? Just let the boy live his life in peace. Focus on Brave Girls while you can.
