On the 14th of October, a series of portrait artworks by Korean artist Yongjin Kim featuring world-famous personalities like Marilyn Monroe and Mahatma Gandhi were showcased. BTS member Jimin was also featured in one of the portrait artworks. The pieces are currently exhibited at the Korea International Art Fair (Kiaf) in Seoul.
The portraits, which are made by sticking and twisting pieces of wire on a blank canvas, were placed in Booth B-63 of the exhibition along with other pieces. The detailed and exquisite pieces are set to be exhibited from the 14th-17th of October at the COEX Hall B.
The Korea International Art Fair, which was started in 2002 to develop the foundation of Korean art and introduces contemporary Korean art to the world, is an important venue to showcase one's art. The fact that Jimin's piece is showcased there shows his impact not only on K-POP but also on the art world.
In April this year, artist Yongjin exhibited the portrait at the Busan Annual Market of Art (BAMA) 2021, held at the Busan BEXCO Exhibition Center. Busan being Jimin's hometown and considering the stature of celebrity that he is. It is no wonder that countless fans and people were seen taking pictures and admiring Jimin's portrait at the exhibition. Lynn Fine Art Gallery on Instagram shared the photos of the event.
Jimin is an ethereal art by himself, his visual is really in another level no wonder many artists got inspired by him 🤩
