Prosecution has demanded a sentence of a year in prison for former After School member Lizzy.
Back on May 18th, Lizzy hit a taxi with her car while driving in the south intersection of Youngdong-bridge in Gangnam-gu. While there were no major injuries involved, Lizzy's blood alcohol concentration levels (0.197%) were high enough for her license to be revoked. Prior to the first DUI trial on September 14th, Lizzy broke down into tears while apologizing for causing a DUI accident during her Instagram live.
On the morning of September 27th KST, her first DUI case hearing took place at the Seoul Central District Court. Lizzy admitted her wrongdoings and apologized while the prosecution pleaded for a year in prison.
During her closing statement, Lizzy said, "I apologize to the taxi driver and to the general public who could have fallen as a victim of my hasty decision. I have been advocating against driving under the influence and yet I have done the very wrong thing due to my ill-advised decision at the moment. I promise that this wouldn't happen again ever in my life. I will not let anybody down from this point onward, including myself. I was afraid of myself but coming here for the trial was more terrifying."
Meanwhile, She was indicted on the charges of dangerous driving under the 'Additional Punishment Law on Specific Crimes' and violating the 'Road Traffic Act' with her DUI.
Why wasn't Kangin from Super Junior charged this severely even though he had two DUIs?
