On September 5th, D.Ark's Kim Woo Rim shared a photo on his Instagram Story that caused some controversy.
A netizen shared the Instagram story and made a post saying, "This picture was uploaded by D.Ark on his SNS."
People noticed that the photo showed beers and a Korean pancake, a dish that you would typically eat at a drinking establishment such as a bar.
Many internet users expressed their disappointment because rapper D.Ark was born in 2004 and is just 17-years-old. They also worried that the owner of the bar might be affected because D.Ark is still a minor. According to Korea’s law, if people sell alcohol to minors, they might be sentenced to 2 years in prison and face a 20 million won fine for violating the Youth Protection Act. In addition, their businesses would also be suspended according to the law of the Food Sanitation Act and Enforcement Decree.
Earlier in 2018, controversies once sparked when D.Ark’s ex-girlfriend accused him of forcing unwanted sex.
Many netizens expressed their opinions on the internet :
"It's quite obvious that there's a beer right in front of his spot so why is he blaming his hyungs..?"
"Kekekeke But it's so obvious from the angle in the picture that there's a beer glass right in front of him."
"People are missing the point. No matter how common drinking as a minor is in school, it's not right at all and he should've known better as a public figure than to post that on SNS. So many weird people shielding him right now. Just stay quiet. No one would've said a thing if he drank with his friends and kept quiet about it."
"He's old enough to sleep around, what's drinking to him."
"Just because he wrote an apology doesn't mean what he did never happened.. it's hilarious to me how Koreans think an apology letter will make all of their mistakes go away."
"So many controversies coming out of this 17 year old kekeke he should put the brakes on his career here, I think he'll get into an even bigger mess if he continues on."
Funny that some of you are calling HIM the abuser when the woman who 'accused' him was a full grown adult over the age of twenty when she had a relationship with him who was internationally 11 at the time and 13 in Korean age, and was blackmailing him about their relationship. She had a sexual relationship with a child, she was the predator. The reason why she took everything back and apologized was because she was called out and people realized what she did, and I see it's still okay to victim blame a man on here. This boy has nobody to protect him, not in the industry, not in his real life. He's the main provider and breadwinner of his family and has been taking care of them and living alone since he a newly turned teenager.
