The RIAA announced on September 23 that BTS's "Butter" is now double platinum.

According to Forbes, "The RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) has just certified “Butter” double platinum, as it has now shifted at least two million equivalent units in the U.S. between pure sales and streaming equivalents. Before today, the track had yet to earn any certification from the organization, but in one fell swoop, the tune collects gold, platinum, and double platinum prizes."

This is BTS's second double-platinum certification by the RIAA after "Dynamite."

BTS's "Butter" has remained on Billboard's HOT 100 for several weeks and has quickly become BTS's most successful single. The track debuted on Billboard's HOT 100 at number 1 and remained on the top for seven consecutive weeks with a total of 10 non-consecutive weeks as number 1.
