Most people know Hwasa for her sultry and jazzy vocals, as well as for her undeniable amazing stage presence, but she has also shown us many times that she's just as talented as a rapper. Hwasa debuted in 2014 with the position of both vocalist and rapper.
Here are a few times in which she showed us what she can do:
1. Pink Pant
Let's start with one of the first raps she wrote as a trainee. Hwasa was asked to write a rap, and since nothing came to mind at the time, she decided to write about her struggle to pick her underwear color on the beat of "Blurred lines" by Robin Thicke, showing her skills both as a rapper and song writer!
2. HookGa
In 2016 she was featured in the HIGH4 song "HookGa" as a rapper, and she wrote her own verse on it and dedicated it to her insecure younger self.
3. I DO ME
Just before debut Hwasa was asked not to cut her hair short, but she did the exact opposite, which led to the CEO almost kicking her out of the group; so she had the amazing idea to write him an apology letter, which wasn't that much of an apology, but he liked it so much he decided to include it in their first album.
4. KIDDING
In her first mini-album, she experiments with melodic rapping, which we can hear in both her track "Maria" and B-side "Kidding."
5. MARIA - MAMA 2020
During the MAMA awards in 2020, Hwasa surprised fans by opening her Maria performance with a new self-written rap verse, which made the performance even more personal and unique!
6. RAP COMPILATION
Last but not least, here's a Hwasa Rap compilation from 2013 to 2020
In conclusion, Hwasa is an all-rounder idol, with amazing skills in anything she does!
She really is a talented rapper as well, she’s an all rounder and can do it all
