The first trial on the legal dispute between Samuel Kim and Brave Brothers was held. The two sides are continuing to show clear differences in their positions.
On August 25, the first hearing of the civil lawsuit that Samuel Kim filed against Brave Brothers was held. Samuel Kim has been claiming that he had not received proper payment statements from Brave Brothers and explained, "The payment statements shown to my father via email differs from the statements confirmed at the trial. There is also a difference of 250 million KRW (~214,000 USD) in the payment."
However, Brave Brothers argued that "The claims that the payment statements are different is false" and further elaborated that "The company noted that Samuel Kim's earnings from his activities did not even break even."
During the same trial, Samuel Kim stated that there were numerous contracts that were formed without his consent. He stated, "I will appeal to the prosecution on charges of forgery of documentation and embezzlement of funds."
Earlier, Samuel Kim filed a criminal complaint against Brave Brothers on charges of fraud, embezzlement, and forgery of private documents. However, Brave Brothers was cleared of the criminal complaint of forgery and embezzlement charges.
Samuel Kim filed a civil suit in 2019 stating that he was used by Brave Brothers for his private business and claimed there were issues with his payment. Samuel Kim stated that his trust and relationship with Brave Brothers were broken and filed a legal complaint against Brave Brothers on charges of forging private documents and embezzling funds.
Brave Brothers also filed a countersuit against Samuel Kim, stating that Samuel Kim is making false claims.
We'll see what the court makes of it all.
