Lee Byung Hun is celebrating his 51st birthday in a meaningful way!

To commemorate his birthday on July 12, the actor donated 100 million won (approximately $87,000 USD) to the children's hospital operated by Asan Medical Center in Seoul. The donated money will be used to ease the financial burdens experienced by patients and their families during treatment.

"When it comes to serious diseases, the treatment process is difficult, and whether it will improve is not something that becomes clear in a short period of time," the actor said in a statement about the donation. "I'd like to offer a little consolation and help to the sick and their family, who have to battle diseases for a long time."

Meanwhile, Lee Byung Hun is officially set to attend the non-competition section of the 74th Cannes Film Festival with his film 'Emergency Declaration.'
