Filipino Choreographer Brian Puspos talks about his experience working on 'Serendipity' and mentions BTS' Jimin as his bias
On the 17th of June, Filipino choreographer and recording artist Brian Puspos was on Reddit for a question and answer session with fans. Brian is a well-seasoned dancer
who has worked with BTS on various choreographies, one of them being
JIMIN's solo song Serendipity. Fans took this chance to ask
him questions relating to his experience on the project as well as other issues.
Fans asked about his experience working with western artists as compared to the ones in K-POP, and he responded by saying that Korean artists
worked harder and had the most discipline. He added that the level
of choreography in the K-POP industry is amazing and full of talented artists who rise to the challenge and execute his difficult styles well.
The choreographer has worked with different members in BTS and rated Jimin's skillset from earlier covers of his
choreography as being advanced. It is for this reason that he made the choreography for Serendipity as if it was for himself because, in his
opinion, Jimin could do anything he could do even better and there were no challenges to consider.
The choreography for Serendipity was said to be the highlight of his
career because he actually loved the song even before he got hired to work on it. It also meant a lot to him since he did not have to change much of the choreography from his original vision, something that made him wish to work with Jimin more in the future.
He confessed to being Jimin-biased and that Jimin's style of dance appealed to him the most. It always filled him with great joy to see Jimin cover his choreography and mentions him with pride in interviews.
He did not fail to praise the members of BTS for being able to pull off
challenging choreographies while also singing.
In a 2015 conversation among the BTS members, Jungkook
revealed that there was a choreographer that Jimin liked, and his
name was Brian Puspos. Jimin always covered Brian's choreography
pieces, and one such cover was 'Own It,' done by both Jimin and Jungkook; the choreographer even acknowledged their excellent performance at the time in a tweet.
Puspos expressed his hope to
work with Jimin and BTS again in future projects because of his
admiration for how they execute his choreography.
Earlier
on the 10th, Jimin's incredible dance skills were put into focus as
he was mentioned by Japanese Choreographer Sota Kawashima, the director for GANMI dance group which choreographed BTS' single 'Butter.' He revealed in an interview with 'Arata' that the one who was in charge of Jimin's choreography was the most skilled person in the group.
Jimin has always demonstrated his skill and versatility as a dancer. He pushes the limits and is able
to rise to the task delivering superb performances that even choreographers, experts, and fans acknowledge. That is why he is hailed as the dance god and stage commander.
