BTS's V has changed the lives of many designers through his sold-out touch. Legend has it that everything Kim Taehyung wears sells out, and Ruslan Baginsky, a hat designer who witnessed tremendous growth in sales because of V, sat down for an interview with InStyle magazine to talk about V's influence.
V had donned Ruslan Baginsky's straw hat with double chain for the teaser image of 'Butter.' The Ukrainian designer was unaware of the fact that one of the biggest fashion influencers of the planet, V, would be turning around his entire life.
Soon after the teaser was released, the brand's Instagram page saw a sudden flood of armys.
"We were speechless," explaining his sudden shock over the huge demand that emerged out of thin air, "because in one moment our Instagram blew up. We realized what happened in one second thanks to all the comments from ARMY members. And of course, we turned on the music and started to listen to all BTS songs."
When questioned about the skyrocketing of sales, Baginsky explained how there are not many people in the world who can impact the brand to this extent. Having worked with groups like Blackpink and Red Velvet, the designer is experienced with celebrities wearing his hats, but no K-Pop idol has ever had half the impact that V has.
He further added, "And yes, the hat is sold out everywhere. The double-chain boater is handcrafted in Kyiv from Ecuador straw, and even if we want, we just can't produce as many hats as K-pop fans want. But we hope it will come back to stock soon."
Thanks to V, the $340 hat saw more demand than the brand could ever supply and will remain out-of-stock for some time.
This incident again proves how V is the Korean idol who has the real brand power. Thanks to him, the Ukrainian designer will be able to explore new skies. His brand reputation is not documented as mere statistics on plain paper but in the form of soaring sales.
