According to Nielsen Korea on April 2, the grand premiere of Mnet's K-Pop boy group competition program 'Kingdom: Legendary War' kicked off with an average viewership rating of 0.3% back on April 1.
Nielsen Korea noted that this was the lowest ever first episode viewership rating of the Mnet competition series, as both 'Queendom' and 'Road To Kingdom' started off with 0.5% average ratings.
Meanwhile, 'Kingdom: Legendary War' is a ferocious performance competition program featuring BTOB, iKON, SF9, The Boyz, Stray Kids, and ATEEZ. On the first episode of the series aired on April 1, all 6 competing teams showcased their preliminary 100-second performance stages, introducing themselves for the first time to their fellow competitors as well as viewers.
if this was 2012 with Gen 2 artists the ratings would be better but K-pop has become so heavily focused on the West in recent years that the Korean general public has absolutely no idea who pretty much the majority of these groups are.
