IZ*ONE Officially Disbands

IZ*ONE of Mnet's Produce 48 has officially disbanded today on April 29, 2021 (KST).  The group's contract finally came to a close after being active for 2 years

When the announcement came out on March 10th, 2021, WIZ*ONEs trended a petition called '#IZONEPermanent' started to trend. They have been trending various hashtags related to a permanent IZ*ONE for over a year now.

Recently, WIZ*ONEs, fans of IZ*ONE, came together to raise a goal of $2 million for a Parallel Universe Project Funding for the relaunch of IZONE after they disband. Unfortunately, despite all of WIZ*ONEs' efforts, Swing Entertainment and Off the Record Entertainment, IZ*ONE's labels, already confirmed the group's disbandment:

"IZ*ONE's project group promotions will come to an end as planned at the end of April. Each of the 12 members and their agencies carried out open discussions regarding the group's future, and this was the conclusion reached. We would like to thank all of the members for their efforts, and we also cheer on each member in their growth."

IZ*ONE also had their second and last concert virtually titled 'ONE, The Story' on March 13-14th, 2021. During their concert, the girls shared the following message to their fans:

"We were able to endure well and stand up again every time we were exhausted and struggling because the members and WIZ*ONE were there. Please always reliably be on our side, and thank you for making us unforgettable memories. We were happy each and every day thanks to WIZ*ONE.”

Thank you, WIZ*ONEs, for your efforts in keeping IZ*ONE's memories alive.

Whoever wrote this article clearly did not do research. Their last concert was held on March 13 and 14 NOT April 13 and 14. Plus the parallel project is still ongoing and the OTR and Swing DID NOT release new statement either....

The funding may have done something if it was started a lot earlier imo. What sucks is being blindsided by the sudden announcement that the online concert was their last; no farewell album even. Coupled by the notion that the contract extensions were on the table only for discussions to fall through, it just makes this a lot sadder. The potential was there, but I guess certain companies just wanted out.
