Kim Byung Man says he will never stop taking on challenges and chasing his dreams until the day he passes.
On April 1st, media outlet JoongAng Daily with the comedian to hold an interview. Kim Byung Man said he had spare time due to COVID-19 so he decided to pursue one of his dreams to become a pilot. He is the first celebrity in Korea to hold a commercial pilot license.
Kim Byung Man continued, "The idea first struck me when I was promoting the Korean air force in 2015. I didn't have much time then but when I injured my back in 2017, a pilot who I got to know while I was learning how to skydive, came to visit me at the hospital. I thought this was the chance. It took me 3 years to finish studying."
He said he failed the writing tests for the license 30 times but he finally passed the test on his 31st try. He cheerfully remarked, "I used to study almost 10 hours a day. I even brought prep tests to the 'Law of the Jungle' set. After passing the writing test, I have already completed 210 hours of flight time."
Kim Byung Man now currently holds about 10 licenses and certificates including skydiving coaching, scuba diving trainer, and a boating license. Watch his full interview below.
