BTS's Jimin Talks about Self-Love and reinforces Core Message of UNICEF and BTS

"The core message hasn't changed."

BTS appeared on the Zach Sang Show on March 13, and the band talked about their Grammy nomination, BE album, and going back on tour, to name a few.

One of Zach Sang's questions was about BTS's LOVE MYSELF campaign with UNICEF, which the band has been supporting since 2017. The host said, "UNICEF Love Myself campaign, I wanna transition into this because I feel like your message is more important now, I mean it's always been important, but it's very very important now in 2021. How has the message changed since 2017?"

"The core message hasn't changed. What I felt from talking with the other members, singing our songs, and communicating with our fans was that if I keep negative emotions towards myself and have low esteem and low regard for myself, it turns out that the things I say to other people and the way I treat other people are not as good as it should be, not as pretty as my words would be. So I realize that it's about loving myself that's really important, and loving and cherishing myself is what opens my doors," Jimin explains.

Jimin adds, "This is something that I feel is right and something that we wanted to share with everybody."

Zach immediately replies, "And I thank you, because by the way, I have experiences in my own life, and I do wonder, you know, can I love other people through loving myself. I think the answer is yes."

In another interview today with 102.7 KIIS FM, BTS answers questions about the Grammy, making new music, and UNICEF'S LOVE MYSELF campaign renewal, among other things. EJ, the host, asks, "So you guys just renewed your alliance with UNICEF and the LOVE MYSELF campaign, proving that the group is bigger than music, what does it mean to create a legacy that is more important than just creating dope tunes to sing and dance to?"

Jimin responds by saying, "I think it's really a privilege and an honor to be able to leave something, a legacy like this, and we also learn a lot from this process, and I continue to ask myself, I am giving out this message of loving myself, am I loving myself, am I loving myself enough? Why is it important? It continues to help us, and it inspires us as well. if we can continue to impart that positive impact, I think it's something that will continue, and it's something that's really important."

Earlier this month, BTS renewed its commitment and partnership with UNICEF's LOVE MYSELF campaign, which aims to help "end violence and neglect while simultaneously promoting children and young people's self-esteem and well-being" through a special video release.

In the video, each member expressed appreciation of the campaign and how it has impacted their lives. Jimin delivered a positive and inspiring message that once again reinforces UNICEF's and BTS's key message about self-love.

"Being together gives great strength. Last year, I thought more about LOVE MYSELF than ever before. I was forced to be apart from other people and sometimes felt lonely and anxious, but I was able to hold myself firm with LOVE MYSELF and have a chance to console each other too."
