The Curious Case of South Korea’s Inflatable Bears

Korean and global netizens went abuzz when about a week ago, several giant inflatable orange bears wearing a blue bowtie were spotted in five different locations in South Korea.

It was eventually revealed to be an art installation by renowned Korean Artist/Sculpture Jibin Im, and the art project was known as the “Everywhere” project. At the same time, Esquire Korea has unveiled the cover story for their March issue. All covers featured Kai donning a new Gucci Collection with bears in them.

After much speculation from fans, Kai and Jibin both posted on their Instagram accounts that it was indeed a collaboration with Gucci.

And on 24 February, Gucci has finally announced to the public they have partnered with Jibin Im to design the large-scale Be@rbrick balloons to celebrate the upcoming launch of the KAI x Gucci collection.
