On the February 6 broadcast of tvN's 'Amazing Saturday - Doremi Market', Girls' Generation's Taeyeon tried a platter of cow intestines for the first time ever in her life!
On this episode, the 'Doremi Market' members and this week's guests - IZ*ONE's Yena and Jaejae - tried to guess the lyrics to Baby V.O.X's "Change". The food they would be competing for during this round was a platter of gopchang (small intestines), daechang (large intestines), and marching (abomasum)!
Seein the dish being prepared, Girls' Generation's Taeyeon commented, "I don't think I can eat it! I've never had it before."
The rest of the 'Doremi Market' members were shocked to hear this, as cow intestines are one of the most trendiest comfort foods among Koreans these days!
Later on, the 'Doremi Market' members succeeded in the guessing the lyrics to Baby V.O.X's "Change" in two tries, earning a chance to try the delicious intestines platter. While all of the other members, who are serious lovers of the comfort food, dug in, Taeyeon cautiously tried her first bite of makchang (the abomasum).
Taeyeon said, "It's strange, but it's good. It's not greasy like I thought it would be. It's really comforting."
Hearing this, SHINee's Key remarked, "I knew you'd like it!"
Have you tried grilled cow intestines?
I don't get why most people are frowning over others eating animal organs. It happens a lot more often than you might think. And on top of that, this isn't just something that is exclusive to the Asias. Animal organs are commonly eaten all around the world.
