Kai is a huge fan of The Weeknd and has always been vocal about his desire to collaborate with him. Previously he recommended his songs, including "In Your Eyes," and mentioned "Trilogy" was the first album he has ever bought apart from EXO's albums.

Following the release of EXO Kai's debut album and his R&B pop title song "Mmmh" on 30th Nov,  fans and many music enthusiasts have been going gaga over his addictive vocals all around the world. Since then, many fans have emphasized more how his enthralling R&B-based album calls attention for a collab with The Weeknd, widely known as the King of R&B.
