Just a few days ago the MTV Video Music Awards (VMA's) announced their nominees and K-POP groups BTS and EXO received nominations. When it comes to BTS this is not the first time the group is nominated, as the previous year they scored a total of 5 nominations and went home with not 1 but 2 awards that night - ''Best K-POP'' and ''Best Group''!

For K-POP boy group EXO, this is their 1st time being nominated. Both groups are nominated for the category "Best K-POP" and BTS is nominated in 2 additional categories "Best Choreography" and "Best POP". The news of the nominations sparked some interesting conversations and comments in the most positive way possible from both fandoms.

Despite EXO and BTS showing openly their friendship and support for each other over the years, both EXO-L and Army admit they have the stereotypical "dog and cat" relationship, which believe it or not did not used to be like that at all it just happened as their fandoms started the grow. Right now the EXO-L and Army relationship is a wide known meme among the K-POP community as both fandoms are famous for always being "at each other's throats", though it does not seem to be the case anymore in recent years according to fans who say they have matured.

Seeing both groups being nominated for a major award show has fans reminiscing about past award shows where the groups used to interact with each other, with fans pointing out that both groups do not seem fond (sadly) of attending South Korean awards shows anymore. 

When it comes to EXOs nomination for the VMAs with their latest hit release "Obsession" reactions were extremely positive. Some fans hope that this may be the chance to see EXO together again as they might perform ''Obsession'' with some theorizing that Lay could possibly join them to replace Suho in the performance and speak English in place of the members. Many EXO-L and Army have shared that they will indeed support the other group in voting and shared why they will do it and all with widely different reasons some of which had everyone feeling touched at how both fandoms want to get along and have matured over the years.

- I knew EXO fetus first, who later introduced me to fetus BTS in 2013-4. Lucky to be part of the era where both fandoms were close as siblings. Definitely will make sure to vote EXO too now.

- To be honest no other group other than EXO can even try to step next to BTS. I am sure SM is not happy at all that EXO who has not promoted yet in the US got nominated instead of the media, chart, and sales manipulation groups. Mad respect for EXO and their international popularity it's deserved.

- EXO is nominated for only one category so there is no reason why EXO-L should not take the time to vote for BTS too?  Tbh I miss the times our fandoms would fight over stupid stuff...Good times XD Army let's fight for many years to come!

- I feel nostalgic lol this feels different than the voting for Choeaedol glad I can split votes. Tbh MTV is shady doubt they want to give even one award to BTS let alone one to EXO but if they do EXO is the only one that I would be fine with taking that category. Congrats to EXO and EXO-L

- Considering BTS has outsold most of the nominated in all categories they should be nominated for something like "Best album" or something like that because just "Best K-POP" is too little for BTS now and they already won it last year. 

- Damn that COVID-19. Remember how Chanyeol got flustered looking at Jimin and hosting with Jin? Suho hugging BTS members. How nice would it have been to see EXO and BTS together again?

-  This is a VMAs Cinderella story Evil step-mother SM locking EXO in the basement because they got nominated for VMAs instead of one of the step-daughters XD I don't think EXO-L will see EXO ever again if they don't win...I'm just jk EXO-L btw I will make sure to give EXO votes too.

- Obviously, as an EXO-L I will vote EXO for "Best K-POP", but for the other categories, I really hope BTS walks away with both "Best POP" and "Best Choreography" votings takes seconds so I will make sure to vote they deserve it. I'm surprised they are not nominated for other categories too.

- EXO's Chinese member Lay speaks English, right? Met him once he is such a sweetheart and his English is adorable. So no problem with accepting awards or going to the US to promote. I hope SM does not sabotage EXO and promote them as they do with others in the US. EXO-L are a strong fandom can't imagine if Bighit treated BTS like SM treats EXO. Maybe VMAs are not that shady after all...

- I really hope our fandoms will get along more in the future. I checked out EXO because of Obsession and because I was worried about BTS that will have to enlist in the next 1-3 years and I wanted to see how it's like. I am happy that I did their whole Obsession album is a masterpiece. Trouble is my favorite song. 

- I saw lots of Army under the EXO comments section and in other EXO and BTS videos. Times have changed it's nice that we get along more now. I really hope people stop spreading negativity about both fandoms. The toxic people are only crazy 6 people with no lives along with their naive supporters next to millions of nice exo-l and army who don't judge based on the actions of the fake army and Exo-l accounts. Let's snatch all of the nominations.
