On the last day of Stray Kids‘ District 9: Unlock dates in Seoul, Hyunjin broke down in tears while sharing his personal struggles of being an idol. 2019 with no doubt has been a rough year for Stray Kids and Stays alike. With Woojin leaving their group being one of the most talked about events this year.
At the concert, Hyunjin tearfully shared the hurdles he and the rest of the boys had to go through to get where they were today. He began telling Stays how hard he had to work to debut and stay at the level everyone expected him to be at.
"I worked really hard and debuted. I worked [really, really] hard... But, there were so many more barriers than expected. I thought we could just joyfully go on together with you and improve. But, barriers [kept popping up]."
Hyunjin then went on to tell people that it wasn't just difficult for him but the whole group. He told everyone that the only reason they were able to keep going was because of support from Stays. He told them not to go anywhere and asked them to support the group as long as possible.
He finished by telling them that they would work hard to be a better group and a group Stays wouldn't be ashamed of. Watch the speech below.
So that started out as awww, poor honey he's sad and turned into omg, why am I sobbing uncontrollably really darn quickly. My heart hurts knowing they're struggling and losing a member this year had to be devastating for them. I hope they know how much Stays love and support them. Like they said, where would we go?
