Singer Kangnam is renouncing his Japanese citizenship to become a Korean citizen. He was born to a Korean mother and a Japanese father, in Japan.
According to Starnews Korea and Dmost Entertainment, Kangnam has recently decided and in a process to become a Korean citizen. He has been preparing necessary documents and will take tests to acquire Korean citizenship.
Well clearly his future for a career is in Korea, so even if there weren't the current difficulties between Japan and Korea, it would have made sense for him to eventually become a Korean citizen in all likelihood. The current troubles between the nations though might have made this a bigger priority to complete quickly so it doesn't jeopardize work opportunities in Korea.
