BTS in a college final? More likely than you think!
An early college student by the name of Kennedy Manuel received an assignment in her Arts Appreciation class at her local community college. For the semester final, she needed to write a 2,000 word essay analyzing a piece of artwork and it's story, whether it be as modern as grafitti or as ancient as low-relief stone carvings. Manuel wasted no time picking her subject: BTS.
This girl is what some may call a "true ARMY." She chose a concept photo from the most recent BTS Festa: a picture of Kim Taehyung (V) and Park Jimin. She starts by introducing BTS and their achievements as a group before breaking down the artistic depth of both sides of the photo.
Manuel starts by analyzing both Singularity and Serendipity, reaching for a general moral or story from each song by even deciphering the lyrics. She describes Taehyung's Singularity themed side as "sensual, dark and mysterious," and Jimin's Serendipity themed side to be almost the opposite: "peaceful, joyful and comforting." She explains the color theory for each side and many other artistic traits such as rhythm, balance, contrast, and symbolism.
Many of Manuel's classmates claim to have been moved by her essay to "view BTS and these songs in a different light."
"If you've been struggling to get into BTS, this essay is perfect for you. It's a long read, but you'll definitely understand who they are once you're done."
Her work has caused people to see BTS in a more inspirational way and even allowed her to pass the class with high marks. It is unknown if Kennedy Manuel has any artwork posted on any social media platform, but it has been confirmed that she runs a "spam account" on Instagram (see @icedoutseok).
