Police are planning to apply for Seungri's arrest warrant next week.
According to a report by Yonhap news on the 3rd, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency has sought a warrant after concluding this week's investigation into the alleged prostitution mediation by Seungri and Yoo In-seok, the former CEO of Yuri Holdings, but the request for the warrant has been delayed due to a reinforcement probe into the embezzlement of the Burning Sun funds.Seungri is accused of embezzling billions of won in the name of "brand fees" from Burning Sun and funneling the funds through Junwon Industries and his other club Monkey Museum.
Police confirmed that some of the Japanese investors did indeed solicit prostitution services and that Mr. Yoo delivered the fee to the brothel owners through his acquaintance's account. The police also confirmed that Seungri used his corporate YG credit card to pay for the hotel fee but after reviewing his contract with YG Entertainment, any personal expenses charged are allowed but will be offset with his profit allotments.
The police plan to request the warrant next week after a reinforcement probe into the suspicions of embezzlement involving Burning Sun.
The police have been saying "we're applying for an arrest warrant this week" for 3 weeks. Nothing's changed.
Police already said last week that they aren't sure that they have enough to arrest him but may do so anyway and let the prosecution decide.
They don't sound confident.
The word is the prosecution is pressuring the police to find something more substantial and they can't.
