Actor Yang, who was arrested for alleged drug use, has been found innocent.
On May 21, Gangnam Police Station announced Yang tested negative in the drug test by the National Forensic Service. As a result, the drug charges against Yang have been dropped.
Back on May 12, Yang, who reportedly starred in hit dramas and movies, was arrested for running around a hotel in the Nonhyeon-dong, Seoul in the middle of the night.
A bag of drugs containing Phentermine - a weight loss supplement - was found in Yang's belongings. In the police investigation, Yang stated, "I was prescribed and consumed Phentermine to prepare for my new project," and revealed, "This time, I took 8 pills in a day."
Overdose on Phentermine can lead to hallucinations.
Meanwhile, actors with the last name Yang including Yang Dong Geun, Yang Se Jong, Yang Ik Joon, Yang Jo Ho, Yang Hyun Min, Yang Moon Suk, and more were accused of being the actor Yang of the issue. However, their agencies strongly denied the rumors. The identity of actor Yang remains unknown.

If what he said is true, he was abusing his prescription which is serious business. (See above.)
People who have prescription pill addictions need treatment before the addiction progresses into abuse of hard core drugs like heroin and fentanyl. That usually happens because prescription pills are expensive and when the addict starts running out of money for their pills, they either can do something else to get high or endure the misery of withdrawal. So they look for cheaper alternatives and people who abuse prescription opioids are going to need another opiate to stave off withdrawal.
Although in this situation, it wasn't opiates it was stimulants. The next logical step for Phentermine abuse would likely be Philopon (aka meth).
It's interesting how in Korean entertainment, it's stimulants celebrities are abusing.
