On April 11, an associate judge of the Seoul Central District Court ruled a final sentence of one year and 6 months in prison for actor Song Seung Won.
Back in December of 2018, Son Seung Won was charged with attempting to get away with a hit-and-run accident while intoxicated, despite the fact that his driver's license was revoked at the time. During his testimony, Son Seung Won admitted to and apologized for all of his charges, and the court has confirmed that his victims have since recovered from the accident. However, during his investigation, Son Seung Won was found to have faced 2 charges of DUIs in the past, receiving penal fines both times. Then, again in August of last year, the actor incurred a third DUI charge, resulting in the revocation of his license.
Furthermore, the court took into consideration that after encountering police at the scene of the accident, Son Seung Won attempted to blame a hoobae actor, who was a passenger at the time, with the hit-and-run charge.
As a result, the court's final ruling regarding Son Seung Won will be a sentence of one year and 6 months in prison. The star will be given a week's time to submit any appeals. However, in the case that he chooses not to appeal and serve his sentence, Son Seung Won will no longer be able to carry out his mandatory military service as an active duty soldier, according to South Korean law.
In South Korean law, individuals with a history of prison sentencing must serve their mandatory duties with 4th grade reservist service or 5th grade social service.
Obviously never learnt seeing how many prior DUI he had. And trying to get junior to take the rap. What a trash. Ban driving forever not just revoke license.
