On April 4, BLACKPINK released the official MV for their new title track. In 24 hours, the MV reached 49,852,930 views - making Black Pink the K-pop group with the most MV views in the first 24 hours.
But...Did BLACKPINK meet our expectations? Is the song worth the large amount of views?
The song received much attention, in terms of views, likes, and streams, but is this comeback song wise good?
However, BLACKPINK's 'Kill This Love' still didn't achieve an all-kill on Koreancharts. The song achieved #3 as the highest rank, but the song fell back to #4 in no time.
Also, there is lots of controversy about this comeback on Twitter. Let's talk and discuss it here!
Even if we look close to the song's ranking on Korean charts we can see that the song isn't ranked really high on Korean music charts for an anticipated comeback.
In comparison, BLACKPINK's last song 'DDU-DU DDU-DU' hit an all-kill in 24 hours. Also, groups TWICE's 'What Is Love?', 'Dance The Night Away', 'Yes or Yes' and Red Velvet's 'Power Up' received an all-kill with their comeback in circa 1 day.
'Kill This Love' is not even close to an all-kill and it seems like that it's going to be difficult for them because it even didn't get to rank #1, which is necessary in first place for an all-kill. Like I already said, the song also fell back to #4 on Korean charts, so the song is climbing up much.
There is lots of controversy about this comeback. Some say there is too much English, some say the chorus was off, some say that the dance was not synchronized and SOME people like the song really much and certify it as a bop.
In my opinion, this song has not a really unique and revolutionary sound like their previous songs. It's definitely not a bad song, but the song seems unfinished and misses more vocal lines and stronger rap lines. Also, the girls really didn't dance synchronized during the chorus part in the music video so that is really disappointing, but the music video is really beautiful and cool.
What do you think? Please let me know what you think about 'Kill This Love'
It´s a bad song that will do well because of the fandom.
