After the departure of numerous members, girl group WA$$UP has decided to disband.
According to press reports released on February 10, remaining members - Nari, Jiae, Woojoo, and Sujin - have terminated their contracts with their agency Mafia Records.
"There was still time left on the WA$$UP members' contracts with the agency," an industry source revealed, adding that the early termination was made in consideration of the members' futures.
Meanwhile, WA$$UP debuted back in 2013 with the single "Wassup," receiving popularity for their dancehall-inspired music and twerking dance performance. In the years they were together, they not only promoted as a group, but were involved with other solo projects as well, with Nari appearing as a contestant on 'The Unit' and Sujin playing a mermaid on the 2017 drama 'A Korean Odyssey.'
They were a different, unique group that never got the attention they deserved. Wish them all the best for the future especially Nari, she has so much potential.
