Hara's ex-boyfriend Choi Jong Bum has once again denied allegations he'd attempted to blackmail the former KARA member by threatening to leak a sex tape.
On the October 9th episode of 'Access Showbiz Tonight', the SBS show sat down for an interview with Choi Jong Bum and his lawyer. Hara's ex-boyfriend explained why he chose to go public with the interview, saying, "I felt that I would become a fool by staying quiet, so I chose to speak up."
As for why he sent Hara the video of their relations, he stated, "We didn't film it because I wanted to, and Hara filmed it directly on my phone. I sent it with the meaning that I didn't feel I should have it when we've already settled the end of our relationship."
When asked if it was true he contacted a media outlet with the intention to spread the footage, Mr. Choi said, "I was overwhelmed with emotions, so I was just talking to them. If I wanted it reported, I would've sent it in the file attachments, but I wanted her to reflect on her actions. That's why I didn't lose control and went to the police instead of going to media about it."
Choi Jong Bum was also questioned why he chose to save the video when Hara had already deleted her copy. He replied, "Because I couldn't put a password on my phone's picture album. I sent it to her because I thought it was most safe that way, and the record of me sending it remained on our personal social media."
