On August 22, Yonghwa shared the below letter on CNBLUE's official social media:
"Salute! Hello, everyone! This is Jung Yonghwa, who's in service with the special forces. After joining on March 5, it's long if you think of it as long, and short if you think of it as short. It was cold when I joined, but now it's continuous sweltering heat.
Everyone! Are you doing well? Are you healthy? I'm writing a letter because I felt like you all would be curious about me. Firstly, I'm doing really well. All my leaders, peers, and newly incoming soldiers are treating me well, so I'm spending my time with a thankful heart. That's why I'm doing my best training with a sense of mission.
As I'm living as soldier Jung Yong Hwa instead of celebrity Jung Yong Hwa, I'm learning a lot of things as I look back on what I missed out on and reflecting on myself. I think this is a really good time as I'm receiving such a good influence.
Am I being too stiff? Hm... Then should I say something more cheerful? At the recruits base, I heard I could do 110 push-ups in 2 minutes, but honestly, it's 120 push-ups. I'm just rectifying it. These days, I'm exercising even more so... I'll stop there!
Everyone! Thank you for waiting for me and cherishing me, and please wait for me and cherish me more as I'll pay you back when I get discharged. And more than anything, health is important! I'll cheer you on, so please take care of yourself and be happy.
I'll send you more news when I get the opportunity. Everyone! Salute!"Yonghwa started his mandatory military service this past April and volunteered for the special forces unit.
