He recently had an interview with No Cut News on his 'Miss Hammurabi' role. When asked how he dealt with the criticism on idols and their acting, he said, "I know there are stereotypes on idols acting. In 2010 when I debuted, there were a lot of idols, but there are even more now, and accordingly, more and more idols are active in various different divisions. Sometimes they aren't prepared, and that also makes things worse. Even if I get better, and even if I look more like an actor than a singer, I think people will continue to have the stereotypes. I want to break that."
He revealed that he likes to read all the comments, even the hate comments, and take the criticism as advice to get better. He said, "You can read criticism and still ignore it, but I think the 27-year-old Kim Myung Soo [himself] can take that and use it positively. I think I can take it and do better."
