Hwang Chi Yeol talked about finding his success.
He had a photoshoot with 'High Cut', where he dressed in everyday clothes and showed a different side to himself from his singing on stage. During the interview, he said, "I have a personality where if I can't get something easily, I try my hardest to get it, so I started to learn music by myself. I practiced by myself for 17 hours a day in a half-basement. If someone reported me for noise, I'd go outside to the Yanghwa Bridge or to a public park to practice, since if I was practicing while I was walking, the sound was drowned out by cars. I just wanted to do well, and that's what brought me here."
On finding his success first in China, he said, "During my third 'Immortal Song' stage, I sang a song called 'Father'. A fan in China saw that by chance and said they cried for an hour straight. That story reached the Chinese version of 'I Am a Singer'. They had been looking for a Korean singer to participate, and they contacted me. I came all the way here thanks to one fan. I know that, so I'm doing my best at everything."
