After completing his mandatory service, G.O didn't return to the stage but made his BJ debut on live streaming platform afreeca TV (similar to Twitch). The idol goes live, sometimes with his girlfriend Choi Ye Seul, and talks with viewers about various topics. Of course, not everyone perceived his BJ debut with a pleasant view.
In 'Cosmopolitan', G.O addressed the negativity and said, "I know some people think that I've turned to afreeca TV because I failed in resuming my promotions. But before I started the broadcasts, I've received offers from 4 agencies and also (an offer for) a musical. I rejected them all. I think it's the difference in values."

He continued, "I wanted to enjoy life doing the things I love without minding too much about the profit. I didn't want to go back to the entertainment industry and be stuck in the same mannerism. To be honest, the entertainment industry does not offer diverse promotions. It's a system where a new product is inserted into an already established format. That was no fun to me. Even though there are negative views against me, that's something I must endure and I believe that will change if I continue to show something new."
