On March 2, a press conference took place for MBC's upcoming drama ''Oh Jak Du, the Husband Who Lives With His Wife's Family' (literal translation). During the interview segment, UEE, one of the lead female actresses, touched on the ongoing #MeToo movement.
UEE said, "While looking at the internet, I was also surprised and disappointed. I was very sad and thought, 'These things happened'. As a woman, I'm supporting the movement."
She continued, "The character I'm playing in the drama is a bit different. She is a person who witnessed losing someone dear to her heart and because she is wrapped up in fear, she ends up getting married. When I put myself in Han Seung Joo's (the role she is playing) position, if I come across someone who is pure and able to protect me as much as Oh Jak Du, I think I could be with that person."
'Oh Jak Du, the Husband Who Lives With His Wife's Family' is set to premiere on March 3.
