According to reports, Jung Jae Sung passed away due to a heart attack which occurred overnight. A representative from his Samsung Electronics badminton team stated, "We never heard that coach [Jung Jae Sung] had an illness of any kind. He was even a torchbearer for the 'Pyeongchang Olympics' recently. Because this happened all too suddenly, we're very taken back and confused."

Jung Jae Sung was most well-known for winning a bronze medal at the '2012 London Olympics' in men's doubles with his partner at the time, Lee Yong Dae. Aside from this major feat, he achieved a list of awards and medals through several tournaments such as the Asian Games, World Championships, and much more.

We offer our deepest condolences to Jung Jae Sung and his family.
