Kang Tae Gu apologizes to his accuser, says he will halt music work

The musician was previously accused of emotional abuse by an ex who dated him for about three years. While he originally claimed some of the accusations were false, he has now admitted and apologized.

His apology reads, 

"I am musician Kang Tae Gu. I dated musician 'A' for three and a half years from 2012 to 2016. I admit to what happened in that period of time, and want to apologize.

I sincerely apologize for the uneasiness 'A' felt while losing her confidence, as well as for the time she was not able to express herself freely. I have learned that for the time we were dating, as well as for two years afterward, 'A' suffered unimaginably, and I sincerely apologize. I am reflecting deep in my heart. I regret my foolish actions of the past, and will look back on my actions so that this never happens again.

So 'A' can recover from the bad memories she has with me, I will be halting my musical activities for now.

I apologize to the people who found my music even though I am not well known, as well as to the people who started liking me after I received the Daesang from the Korean Music Awards.

I apologize once again for causing a disturbance."

The KMA is currently considering cancelling his award.
