Wanna One
Wanna One did not actually make some of the controversial remarks, according to fans.

The popular boy group received heavy criticism after their shocking conversation in the waiting room accidentally broadcasted live.

Although the majority of the audio was clear and undeniable, there are some parts leading to a debate due to lack of clarity. With this in mind, Wannables are standing up for the idols and claiming part of their conversation is a mondegreen.

Mondegreen is when lyrics are misinterpreted due to mishearing. In this case, fans are claiming some of Wanna One's words were misheard and resulted in misinterpretation.

For example, fans say the part where one member said, "Miri yok hae ya get da" or "I better curse now in advance", was misheard. The member did not say 'yok-hae' ?? (meaning curse) but actually slurred the word, 'ee-ruh-kae' ??? (meaning like this).

'Ee-ruh-kae' -- 'york-kae' -- 'yo-reu-kae' -- 'yor-kae' ultimately sounding like 'yok-hae' and the member was actually trying to say something along the lines of, "I better do it like this in advance."

However, netizens are not too convinced with the fans' mondegreen theory. Comments stated, "Mondegreen my ass lol", "LOLOLOL this is seriously really funny", "Hul... They're like people in a cult", "They're trying so hard to create an excuse", "Fangirls are so disgusting."

What are your thoughts on the fans' claim on mondegreen?
