On January 15, Harisu responded to haters via a lengthy post on Instagram. She also threatened legal action against commenters that have gone too far with their rude remarks.

She stated, "You say I have to endure all the criticism and hate since I'm a celebrity who gets judged,�making a living and money with popularity? You say you can do whatever you want because South Korea is a nation of free speech? I want to ask if you really think that way! You say I look different in my photos compared to videos, that I have not lost weight but have undergone cosmetic surgery. But I have not undergone cosmetic surgery. The fact is that I have just lost weight. I use the app Beauty Plus to take pictures. Doesn't everyone use photo apps to take selca nowadays? I've always mentioned which app I used to take pictures on my post but why are you all so anxious to jump at me?�Once again, you have the right to hate or love me and it's up to you. You don't have to like me but I don't go around criticizing or leave malicious posts against the things I hate."
Harisu also said, "Please stop while I'm holding back. It's not like I haven't taken action because I don't know how to. Once I start (to take legal action), there will be no agreements/compromises."
Lastly, she stated, "You guys who are defaming my character and leaving hate comments are same as murderers. In one word, you are the trash of society. The evil!"
